Reasons: 1) Irreparability in the event of an error of justice, 2) Detrimental moral influence of the execution procedure on those who, whether directly or indirectly, have to do with the procedure. ~ ~ The mathematical probability of a common cat doing exactly as it pleases is the one scientific absolute in the world. ~ ~ Progress is man's ability to complicate simplicity. ~ ~ Accountability in friendship is the equivalent of love without strategy. ~ ~ Good men are bound by conscience and liberated by accountability. ~ ~ The survival of the fittest is the ageless law of nature, but the fittest are rarely the strong. The fittest are those endowed with the qualifications for adaptation, the ability to accept the inevitable and conform to the unavoidable, to harmonize with existing or changing conditions. ~ ~ All of our unhappiness comes from our inability to be alone. ~ ~ If there is any one secret of success, it lies in the ability to get the other person's point of view and see things from his angle as well as your own. ~ ~ Concentration is the ability to think about absolutely nothing when it is absolutely necessary. ~ ~ The only thing I was trying to portray was serenity.
