~ Resting on your laurels is as dangerous as resting when you are walking in the snow. You doze off and die in your sleep. ~ ~ They say that necessity is the mother of invention, and when the necessity is survival she can be one mean mother, but it's her child invention that's the real dangerous one. ~ ~ If you are out of trouble, watch for danger ~ ~ Danger gleams like sunshine to a brave man's eyes. ~ ~ Lawyers are men who hire out their words and anger. ~ ~ Privacy was in sufficient danger before TV appeared, and TV has given it its death blow. ~ ~ Vietnam presumably taught us that the United States could not serve as the world's policeman; it should also have taught us the dangers of trying to be the world's midwife to democracy when the birth is scheduled to take place under conditions of guerrilla war. ~ ~ Heroism is latent in every human soul - However humble or unknown, they (the veterans) have renounced what are accounted pleasures and cheerfully undertaken all the self-denials - privations, toils, dangers, sufferings, sicknesses, mutilations, life- ~ ~ From the equality of rights springs identity of our highest interests; you cannot subvert your neighbor's rights without striking a dangerous blow at your own. ~ ~ Cats are dangerous companions for writers because cat watching is a near-perfect method of writing avoidance. ~ ~ Art is dangerous. Rest thy head upon my bosom,
Lose thyself in the ecstasy of
my caresses,
And know me,
For I am
ZINFANDEL ~ ~ There comes a time when deceit and defiance must be seen for what they are. At that point, a gathering danger must be directly confronted.
