~ The same stream of life that runs through my veins night and day runs through the world and dances in rhythmic measures. It is the same life that shoots in joy through the dust of the earth in numberless blades of grass and breaks into tumultuous waves of leaves and flowers. It is the same life that is rocked in the ocean-cradle of birth and of death, in ebb and in flow. I feel my limbs are made glorious by the touch of this world of life. And my pride is from the life-throb of ages dancing in my blood this moment. ~ ~ Never trust spiritual leader who cannot dance. ~ ~ We're fools whether we dance or not, so we might as well dance. ~ ~ We're fools whether we dance or not, so we might as well dance. ~ ~ Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance. ~ ~ Dancing in all its forms cannot be excluded from the curriculum of all noble education; dancing with the feet, with ideas, with words, and, need I add that one must also be able to dance with the pen? ~ ~ Dance is the only art of which we ourselves are the stuff of which it is made. ~ ~ To dance is to be out of yourself. Larger, more beautiful, more powerful. ~ ~ I don't want people who want to dance, I want people who have to dance. ~ ~ Dance is the hidden language of the soul. ~ ~ Dance is a song of the body. Either of joy or pain. ~ ~ Dance, even if you have nowhere to do it but your living room. ~ ~ When the music changes, so does the dance ~ ~ When the music changes, so does the dance ~ ~ Dance as if no one were watching, Sing as if no one were listening, And live every day as if it were your last ~ ~ While I dance I cannot judge, I cannot hate, I cannot separate myself from life. I can only be joyful and whole. That is why I dance. ~ ~ Dance is the landscape of a man's soul ~ ~ You can be a king or a street sweeper, but everybody dances with the Grim Reaper. ~ ~ Either dance well or quit the ballroom. ~ ~ He who cannot dance says the stage is not ready ~ ~ He who cannot dance says the stage is not ready ~ ~ You were born together, and together you shall be forevermore.
You shall be together when the white wings of death scatter your days.
Aye, you shall be together even in the silent memory of God.
But let there be spaces in your togetherness,
And let the winds of the heavens dance between you.
Love one another but make not a bond of love:
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
Fill each other's cup but drink not from one cup.
Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf.
Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each of you be alone,
Even as the strings of the lute are alone though they quiver
with the same music.
Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping.
For only the hands of Life can contain your hearts.
And stand together, yet not too near together:
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow. ~ ~ Prayer does not use up artificial energy, doesn't burn up any fossil fuel, doesn't pollute. Long, glinting dragonflies shot across the path, or hung tremulous with gauzy wings and gleaming bodies. ~ ~ It was, as I have said, a fine autumnal day; the sky was clear and serene, and nature wore that rich and golden livery which we always associate with the idea of abundance. The forests had put on their sober brown and yellow, while some trees of the tenderer kind had been nipped by the frosts into brilliant dyes of orange, purple, and scarlet. ~ ~ Discipline is a symbol of caring to a child. He needs guidance. If there is love, there is no such thing as being too tough with a child. ~ ~ If names are not correct, language will not be in accordance with the truth of things. ~ ~ He dances well to whom fortune pipes ~ |
