~ For those who seek to understand it, death is a highly creative force. The highest spiritual values of life can originate from the thought and study of death. ~ ~ Truly man is the king of beasts, for his brutality exceeds them. We live by the death of others. We are burial places! I have since an early age abjured the use of meat. ~ ~ The aura of the theocratic death penalty for adultery still clings to America, even outside New England, and multiple divorce, which looks to the European like serial polygamy, is the moral solution to the problem of the itch. ~ ~ Both liberty and equality are among the primary goals pursued by human beings through many centuries; but total liberty for wolves is death to the lambs, total liberty of the powerful, the gifted, is not compatible with the rights to a decent existence of the weak and the less gifted. ~ ~ A man's ethical behavior should be based effectually on sympathy, education, and social ties; no religious basis is necessary.
