~ The great end of education is to discipline rather than to furnish the mind; to train it to the use of its own powers, rather than fill it with the accumulation of others. ~ ~ No man or woman has achieved an effective personality who is not self-disciplined. Such discipline must not be an end in itself, but must be directed to the development of resolute Christian character. ~ ~ Some people regard discipline as a chore. Good talk rises upon much discipline. ~ ~ It takes tremendous discipline to control the influence, the power you have over other people's lives. ~ ~ It takes tremendous discipline to control the influence, the power you have over other people's lives. ~ ~ Standing armies can never consist of resolute robust men; they may be well-disciplined machines, but they will seldom contain men under the influence of strong passions, or with very vigorous faculties. ~ ~ Without discipline the Army would just be a bunch of guys wearing the same color clothing. ~ ~ True love is a discipline in which each divines the secret self of the other and refuses to believe in the mere daily self. ~ ~ A great power has to have the discipline not only to go when necessary but to know when not to go. Getting involved in ethnic, religious civil wars is a recipe for disaster. ~ ~ Those who lead disciplined and orderly lifestyles they achieve all their goals and progress. ~ ~ Innovation is the specific tool of entrepreneurs, the means by which they exploit change as an opportunity for a different business or a different service. It is capable of being presented as a discipline, capable of being learned, capable of being practiced. Entrepreneurs need to search purposefully for the sources of innovation, the changes and their symptoms that indicate opportunities for successful innovation. And they need to know and to apply the principles of successful innovation. ~ |
