We feel those of the present but neither see nor feel those of the future; and hence we often make troublesome changes without amendment, and frequently for the worse. ~ ~ To make no mistakes is not in the power of man; but from their errors and mistakes the wise and good learn wisdom for the future. ~ ~ Other holidays repose upon the past; Arbor Day proposes for the future. ~ ~ Our awesome responsibility to ourselves, to our children, and to the future is to create ourselves in the image of goodness, because the future depends on the nobility of our imaginings. ~ ~ The world is changing so rapidly, and many people are paralyzed with fear and anxiety about the future.
