~ Life is here only to be lived so that we can, through life, earn the right to death, which to me is paradise. Whatever it is that will bring me the reward of paradise, I will do the best I can. ~ ~ The remarkable thing is that we really love our neighbor as ourselves: we do unto others as we do unto ourselves. We hate others when we hate ourselves. We are tolerant toward others when we tolerate ourselves. We forgive others when we forgive ourselves. We are prone to sacrifice others when we are ready to sacrifice ourselves. ~ ~ Give me, indulgent gods with mind serene,
And guiltless heart, to range the sylvan scene,
No splendid poverty, no smiling care,
No well-bred hate, or servile grandeur, there.
~ ~ Whatever a poet writes with enthusiasm and a divine inspiration is very fine. Earliest reference to the madness or divine
inspiration of poets. ~ ~ Are you willing to believe that love is the strongest thing in the world - stronger than hate, stronger than evil, stronger than death - and that the blessed life which began in Bethlehem nineteen hundred years ago is the image and brightness of the Eternal Love? Then you can keep Christmas.
~ ~ Whatever else be lost among the years, Let us keep Christmas still a shining thing: Whatever doubts assail us, or what fears, Let us hold close one day, remembering Its poignant meaning for the hearts of men. Let us get back our childlike faith again.
~ ~ Love and hate are such strong words, they also cause so much pain ~ ~ At least I hate myself as much as I hate anybody else. ~ ~ The more one is hated, I find, the happier one is.
~ ~ The highest order of mind is accused of folly, as well as the lowest. Nothing is thoroughly approved but mediocrity. The majority has established this, and it fixes its fangs on whatever gets beyond it either way. ~ ~ We hate to have some people give us advice because we know how badly they need it themselves.
~ ~
Whatever advice you give, be brief. ~ ~ Everyone believes very easily whatever they fear or desire. ~ ~ Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family:
Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one.
~ ~ I could not, at any age, be content to take my place by the fireside and simply look on. Life was meant to be lived. Curiosity must be kept alive. One must never, for whatever reason, turn his back on life. ~ ~ If you have never been hated by your child you have never been a parent. ~ ~ While I dance I cannot judge, I cannot hate, I cannot separate myself from life. I can only be joyful and whole. That is why I dance. ~ ~ Whatever else an American believes or disbelieves about himself, he is absolutely sure he has a sense of humor ~ ~ The opposite of love is not hate, the opposite of love is ignorance. ~ ~ He that is proud eats up himself; pride in his glass, his trumpet, his chronicle; and whatever praises itself but in the deed, devours the deed in the praise ~ ~ Whatever pleases You is a pure action of karma. ~ ~ Blogs are whatever we make them. Defining 'blog' is a fool's errand. ~ ~ I hate the idea of causes, and if I had to choose between betraying my country and betraying my friend, I hope I should have the guts to betray my country ~ ~ Resolve not to be poor: whatever you have, spend less. Poverty is a great enemy to human happiness; it certainly destroys liberty, and it makes some virtues impracticable and others extremely difficult. ~ ~ Learned helplessness is the giving-up reaction, the quitting response that follows from the belief that whatever you do doesn't matter. ~ ~ The most excellent and divine counsel, the best and most profitable advertisement of all others, but the least practised, is to study and learn how to know ourselves. This is the foundation of wisdom and the highway to whatever is good. . . . God, Nature, the wise, the world, preach man, exhort him both by word and deed to the study of himself. ~ ~ As for the word "Hare" (pronounced huh-ray), it's a call to Krishna's divine energy. Just as the sun shines forth to us through its energies like heat and light, the Supreme reveals Himself through His multitude of energies. If the Supreme is the source of everything, then whatever we see--and even what we don't see-- belongs to the energy of the Supreme. ~ ~ Men's thinking that you must halt before the barrier of inner negativity. You need not. You can crash through...whatever we see a negative state, that is where we can destroy it. ~ ~ Whatever you do they will love you; even if they don't love you they are connected to you till you die. You can be boring and tedious with sisters, whereas you have to put on a good face with friends. ~ ~ It is better to be hated for what you are than to be loved for something you are not. ~ |
