~ Worry, hate, fearótogether with their offshoots: anxiety, bitterness, impatience, avarice, unkindness, judgmentalness, and condemnationóall attack the body at the cellular level. It is impossible to have a healthy body under these conditions ~ ~ I have a great love and respect for religion, great love and respect for atheism. What I hate is agnosticism, people who do not choose. ~ ~ Who hates the Jews more than the Jew? ~ ~ Whatever is funny is subversive, every joke is ultimately a custard pie... a dirty joke is a sort of mental rebellion. ~ ~ If you're a liberal, anything you say is protected. If you're a conservative, anything you say is hateful. ~ ~ The founders of a new colony, whatever Utopia of human virtue and happiness they might originally project, have invariably recognized it among their earliest practical necessities to allot a portion of the virgin soil as a cemetery, and another portion as the site of a prison. ~ ~ Our lives are a mixture of different roles. Most of us are doing the best we can to find whatever the right balance is . . . For me, that balance is family, work, and service. ~ ~ A desire arises in the mind. It is satisfied immediately another comes. In the interval which separates two desires a perfect calm reigns in the mind. It is at this moment freed from all thought, love or hate. Complete peace equally reigns between two mental waves. ~ ~ Whatever relationships you have attracted in your life at this moment, are precisely the ones you need in your life at this moment. There is a hidden meaning behind all events, and this hidden meaning is serving your own evolution. ~ ~ Race hate isn't human nature; race hate is the abandonment of human nature. ~ ~ Negative feedback is better that none. I would rather have a man hate me than overlook me. As long as he hates me I make a difference ~ ~ Apparently we love our own cell phones but we hate everyone else's. ~ ~ Whatever right the Second Amendment protects is not as important as it was 200 years ago... The government should deconstitutionalize the subject by repealing the embarrassing Amendment. ~ ~ For whatever we lose (like a you or a me),
It's always our self we find in the sea ~ ~ I drank a bottle of wine for company. It was Chateau Margaux. It was pleasant to be drinking slowly and to be tasting the wine and to be drinking alone. A bottle of wine was good company. ~ ~ I gained 60 pounds, and I am proud of it. Why do I need to watch my weight when I am pregnant? I could eat whatever the hell I want to eat. ~ ~ I hate weekends because there is no stock market. ~ ~ For a mother the project of raising a boy is the most fulfilling project she can hope for. She can watch him, as a child, play the games she was not allowed to play; she can invest in him her ideas, aspirations, ambitions, and values -- or whatever she has left of them; she can watch her son, who came from her flesh and whose life was sustained by her work and devotion, embody her in the world. So while the project of raising a boy is fraught with ambivalence and leads inevitably to bitterness, it is the only project that allows a woman to be -- to be through her son, to live through her son. ~ ~ All blame is a waste of time. No matter how much fault you find with another, and regardless of how much you blame him, it will not change you. The only thing blame does is to keep the focus off you when you are looking for external reasons to explain your unhappiness or frustration. You may succeed in making another feel guilty about something by blaming him, but you won't succeed in changing whatever it is about you that is making you unhappy. ~ ~ I hate when I read "Try that Jennifer Aniston Diet." There was no diet! ~ ~ Here I was into astronomy, and here into anthropology, and there I go into geology. It was much more fun to be able to research and write about whatever I wanted to. ~ ~ I don't mind lying, but I hate inaccuracy. ~ ~ Worthiness, in very simple terms, means I have found a way to let the Energy reach me, the Energy that is natural, reach me. Worthiness, or unworthiness, is something that is pronounced upon you by you. You are the only one that can deem yourself worthy or unworthy. You are the only one who can love yourself into a state of allowing, or hate yourself in a state of disallowing. There is not something wrong with you, nor is there something wrong with one who is not loving you. You are all just, in the moment, practicing the art of not allowing, or the art of resisting ~ ~ The earth does not belong to man; man belongs to the earth. All things are connected like the blood that unites one family.
Man did not weave the web of life; he is merely a strand in it.
Whatever he does to the web he does to himself. ~ ~ Knowledge was inherent in all things. The world was a library and its books were the stones, leaves, grass, brooks and the birds and animals that shared, alike with us ,the storms and blessings of the earth. We learn to do what only the student of nature ever learns, and that is to feel beauty. We never rail at the storms, the furious winds ,the biting frosts and snows. To do so intensifies human futility, so whatever comes we should adjust ourselves by more effort and energy if necessary, but without complaint. Bright days and dark days are both expressions of the Great Mystery, and the Indian reveled in being close the the Great Holiness. ~ ~ As a colored woman I might enter Washington any night, a stranger in a strange land, and walk miles without finding a place to lay my head.... The colored man alone is thrust out of the hotels of the national capital like a leper.... Surely nowhere in the world do oppression and persecution based solely on the color of the skin appear more hateful and hideous than in the capital of the United States, because the chasm between the principles upon which this Government was founded, in which it still professes to believe, and those which are daily practiced under the protection of the flag, yawn so wide and deep. ~ ~ Whatever you say it is, it isn't. ~ ~ Englishmen hate Liberty and Equality too much to understand them. But every Englishman loves a pedigree. ~ ~ When indignation takes possession of his mind - and it is easily excited - his disposition becomes malevolent. He hates with the bitterest contempt. But as soon as he has indulged those feelings, he regains the humanity which he had lost - from the immediate impulse of provocation - and repents deeply. So that his mind is continually making the most sudden transitions - from good to evil, from evil to good. A state of such perpetual tumult must be attended with the misery of restless inconsistency. He laments his want of tranquillity and speaks of the power of application to composing studies, as a blessing placed beyond his attainment, which he regrets. ~ ~ Every social trait labelled masculine or feminine is in truth a human trait. It is our human right to develop and contribute our talents whatever our race, sex, religion, ancestry, age. Human rights are indivisible! ~ |
