~ We conceal it from ourselves in vain - we must always love something. In those matters seemingly removed from love, the feeling is secretly to be found, and man cannot possibly live for a moment without it. ~ ~ It is the most wonderful feeling in the world, knowing you are loved and wanted. ~ ~ There is only one happiness in life -- to love and to be loved. ~ ~ Love is the only sane and satisfactory answer to the problem of human existence. ~ ~ We are all born for love. It is the principle of existence, and its only end. ~ ~ The important thing is to not be afraid to take a chance. Remember, the greatest failure is to not try. Once you find something you love to do, be the best at doing it. ~ ~ Nothing is more beautiful than the loveliness of the woods before sunrise. ~ ~ Love the earth as you would love yourself. ~ ~ This is what you should do;
love the Earth and sun and the animals... ~ ~ We cannot do great things on this Earth, only small things with great love. ~ ~ God loved the birds and invented trees. Man loved the birds and invented cages. ~ ~ A tree is known by its fruit; a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost; he who sows courtesy reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love. ~ ~ This is one of the paradoxes of the democratic movement -- that it loves a crowd and fears the individuals who compose it -- that the religion of humanity should have no faith in human beings. ~ ~ Friends can help each other. A true friend is someone who lets you have total freedom to be yourself - and especially to feel. Or, not feel. Whatever you happen to be feeling at the moment is fine with them. That's what real love amounts to - letting a person be what he really is. ~ ~ I think the true gardener is a lover of his flowers, not a critic of them. I think the true gardener is the reverent servant of Nature, not her truculent, wife-beating master. I think the true gardener, the older he grows, should more and more develop a humble, grateful and uncertain spirit. ~ ~ A loving relationship is one in which the loved one is free to be himself to laugh with me, but never at me; to cry with me, but never because of me; to love life, to love himself, to love being loved. Such a relationship is based upon freedom and can never grow in a jealous heart. ~ ~ It is easy to hate and it is difficult to love. This is how the whole scheme of things works. All good things are difficult to achieve; and bad things are very easy to get. ~ ~ Live with intention. Walk to the edge. Listen hard. Practice wellness. Play with abandon. Laugh. Choose with no regret. Appreciate your friends. Continue to learn. Do what you love. Live as if this is all there is. ~ ~ Life has taught us that love does not consist in gazing at each other, but in looking outward together in the same direction. ~ ~ We cannot all do great things, but we can do small things with great love.
-We shall never know all the good that a simple smile can do. ~ ~ True love grows by sacrifice and the more thoroughly the soul rejects natural satisfaction the stronger and more detached its tenderness becomes. ~ ~ Do not be afraid of showing your affection. Be warm and tender, thoughtful and affectionate. Men are more helped by sympathy, than by service; love is more than money, and a kind word will give more pleasure than a present. ~ ~ It is wrong to think that love comes from long companionship and persevering courtship. Love is the offspring of spiritual affinity and unless that affinity is created in a moment, it will not be created for years or even generations. ~ ~ There is one thing one has to have: either a soul that is cheerful by nature, or a soul made cheerful by work, love, art, and knowledge. ~ ~ The tragedy is not that love doesn't last. The tragedy is the love that lasts. ~ ~ Three things I want in a relationship: Eyes that won\'t cry, lips that won\'t lie, and love that won\'t die. ~ ~ Love is shown in your deeds, not in your words. ~ ~ The greater your capacity to love, the greater your capacity to feel the pain. ~ ~ The more a man judges, the less he loves. ~ ~ In every block of marble I see a statue as plain as though it stood before me, shaped and perfect in attitude and action.
I have only to hew away the rough walls that imprison the lovely apparition to reveal it to the other eyes as mine see it. ~ |
