~ The Christian missionary may preach the gospel to the poor naked heathen, but the spiritual heathen who populate Europe have as yet heard nothing of Christianity. ~ ~ A business leader has to keep their organization focused on the mission. That sounds easy, but it can be tremendously challenging in today's competitive and ever-changing business environment. ~ ~ Workers of the world awaken. Break your chains, demand your rights. All the wealth you make is taken, by exploiting parasites. Shall you kneel in deep submission from your cradle to your grave. Is the height of your ambition to be a good and willing slave? ~ ~ Oppression that is clearly inexorable and invincible does not give rise to revolt but to submission. ~ ~ A great idea is usually original to more than one discoverer. Great ideas come when the world needs them. They surround the world's ignorance and press for admission. ~ ~ The problem of evil...Why does God permit it? Or, if God is omnipotent, in which case permission and creation are the same, why did God create it? ~ ~ In an age when the fashion is to be in love with yourself, confessing to being in love with somebody else is an admission of unfaithfulness to one's beloved ~ ~ Mistakes fail in their mission of helping the person who blames them on the other fellow. ~ ~ European imperialism long ago made Tahiti a distant suburb of Paris, the missionaries made it a suburb of Christ's kingdom, and the radio made it a suburb of Los Angeles ~ ~ Don't give your mind permission to get disturbed. A disturbed mind is easily influenced. This will cost you your peace. Learn to maintain your peace by freeing yourself from attachments. Competing or comparing yourself with others will not allow you to focus inwards. An inner focus allows you to keep your eye on your higher self. Remember your original nature. It allows you to forge a link with the Divine. Then it becomes easy to recognise useless thoughts and replace them with a spiritual perspective. A calm mind is not just peaceful, it is focused, self-directing and Divine. ~ ~ A small body of determined spirits fired by an unquenchable faith in their mission can alter the course of history. ~ ~ Liberalism, austere in political trifles, has learned ever more artfully to unite a constant protest against the government with a constant submission to it. ~ ~ Friendship, like love, is destroyed by long absence, though it may be increased by short intermissions ~ ~ Education is the transmission of civilization. ~ ~ A good film is when the price of the dinner, the theatre admission and the babysitter were worth it. ~ ~ It is the awareness of unfulfilled desires which gives a nation the feeling that it has a mission and a destiny. ~ ~ The mission of the United States is one of benevolent assimilation. ~ ~ A zealous sense of mission is only possible where there is opposition to it. ~ ~ If you think of vision and mission as an organization's head and heart, the values it holds are its soul. ~ ~ To a person in love, the value of the individual is intuitively known. Love needs no logic for its mission. ~ ~ The mania for giving the Government power to meddle with the private affairs of cities or citizens is likely to cause endless trouble, through the rivalry of schools and creeds that are anxious to obtain official recognition, and there is great danger that our people will lose our independence of thought and action which is the cause of much of our greatness, and sink into the helplessness of the Frenchman or German who expects his government to feed him when hungry, clothe him when naked, to prescribe when his child may be born and when he may die, and, in time, to regulate every act of humanity from the cradle to the tomb, including the manner in which he may seek future admission to paradise ~ ~ Giving yourself permission to lose guarantees a loss. ~ ~ My son gave me the permission to accept my success. ~ ~ Nobody can hurt me without my permission. ~ ~ It's easier to apologize than ask for permission. ~ ~ I cannot do anything without Godís permission. ~ ~ But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment. ~ ~ I am honoured to be asked to take on this role, especially as it comes at such an integral time for our relationship with South Africa and the African continent.
