~ ~ The most wonderful of all things in life, I believe, is the discovery of another human being with whom one's relationship has a glowing depth, beauty, and joy as the years increase. This inner progressiveness of love between two human beings is a most marvelous thing, it cannot be found by looking for it or by passionately wishing for it. It is a sort of Divine accident. ~ ~ Between men and women there is no friendship possible. There is passion, enmity, worship, love, but no friendship. ~ ~ Chains do not hold a marriage together. It is threads, hundreds of tiny threads which sew people
together through the years. That is what makes a marriage last --more than passion or even sex! ~ ~ Love is when you take away the feeling, the passion, the romance and you find out you still care for that person ~ ~ When work, commitment, and pleasure all become one and you reach that deep well where passion lives, nothing is impossible. ~ ~ Great dancers aren't great because of their technique; they are great because of their passion. ~ ~ No passion so effectually robs the mind of its powers of acting and reasoning as fear. ~ ~ The problem with capitalism is that it best rewards the worst part of us: the ruthless, competitive, conniving, opportunistic, acquisitive drives, giving little reward and often much punishment--or at least much handicap--to honesty, compassion, fair play, many forms of hard work, love of justice, and a concern for those in need. ~ ~ Man may dismiss compassion from his heart, but God never will ~ ~ A compassionate government keeps faith with the trust of the people and cherishes the future of their children ~ ~ Let no one think that real gardening is a bucolic and meditative occupation. It is an insatiable passion, like everything else to which a man gives his heart. ~ ~ Jealousy is bred in doubts. When those doubts change into certainties, then the passion either ceases or turns absolute madness. ~ ~ I believe that man will not merely endure; he will prevail. He is immortal, not because he alone among the creatures has an inexhaustible voice, but because he has a soul, a spirit capable of kindness and compassion. ~ ~ Be a good human being, a warm-hearted affectionate person. That is my fundamental belief. Having a sense of caring, a feeling of compassion will bring happiness of peace of mind to oneself and automatically create a positive atmosphere. ~ ~ Educate your children to self-control, to the habit of holding passion and prejudice and evil tendencies subject to an upright and reasoning will, and you have done much to abolish misery from their future lives and crimes from society. ~ ~ Be a good human being, a warm-hearted affectionate person. That is my fundamental belief. Having a sense of caring, a feeling of compassion will bring happiness of peace of mind to oneself and automatically create a positive atmosphere. ~ ~ Love works in miracles every day: such as weakening the strong, and stretching the weak; making fools of the wise, and wise men of fools; favouring the passions, destroying reason, and in a word, turning everything topsy-turvy.

I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious. ~ ~ Age puzzles me. I thought it was a quiet time. My seventies were interesting and fairly serene, but my eighties are passionate. I grow more intense as I age. ~ ~ Jealousy would be far less torturous if we understood that love is a passion entirely unrelated to our merits. ~ ~ Love without passion is dreary; passion without love is horrific. ~ ~ Intellectual passion drives out sensuality ~ ~ Marriage is not just spiritual communion and passionate embraces; marriage is also three meals a day, sharing the workload and remembering to carry out the trash ~ |
