Power undirected by high purpose spells calamity, and high purpose by itself is utterly useless if the power to put it into effect is lacking ~ ~ Not many appreciate the ultimate power and potential usefulness of basic knowledge accumulated by obscure, unseen investigators who, in a lifetime of intensive study, may never see any practical use for their findings but who go on seeking answers to the unknown without thought of financial or practical gain ~ ~ We must make automatic and habitual, as early as possible, as many useful actions as we can... . The more of the details of our daily life we can hand over to the effortless custody of automatism, the ore our higher powers of mind will be set free for their own proper work ~ ~ Why do we love the sea? It is because it has some potent power to make us think things we like to think ~ ~ Water, like religion and ideology, has the power to move millions of people.
