~ I think that public service is tough on a family - no ifs, ands, buts about it. I have my own personal wishes, but they're not always front and center. ~  ~ Consciously or unconsciously, every one of us does render some service or other. If we cultivate the habit of doing the service deliberately, our desire for service will steadily grow stronger, and will make, not only for our own happiness, but that of the world at large. ~ ~ Perhaps the greatest social service that can be rendered by anybody to this country and to mankind is to bring up a family. ~ ~ I don't want to do business with those who don't make a profit, because they can't give the best service. ~ ~ Show me the business man or institution not guided by sentiment and service; by the idea that "he profits most who serves best" and I will show you a man or an outfit that is dead or dying. ~ ~ Quality in a product or service is not what the supplier puts in. It is what the customer gets out and is willing to pay for. A product is not quality because it is hard to make and costs a lot of money, as manufacturers typically believe. This is incompetence. Customers pay only for what is of use to them and gives them value. Nothing else constitutes quality. ~ ~ History will die if not irritated. The only service I can do to my profession is to serve as a flea. ~ ~ Without community service, we would not have a strong quality of life. It's important to the person who serves as well as the recipient. It's the way in which we ourselves grow and develop... ~ ~ The best way to find yourself, is to lose yourself in the service of others. ~ ~ Money does not pay for anything, never has, never will. It is an economic axiom as old as the hills that goods and services can be paid for only with goods and services. ~ ~ Service is no heritage. ~ ~ If only for a half hour a day, a child should do something serviceable to the community ~  |
