Children Quotes
We say those who suffered here ... your suffering is not in vain. We assure you that we, the children of the world, will learn new lessons. We will define the future, not hatred, not bitterness, not alienation. But joy (and) happiness.
Andrew Young

Some material things make my life more enjoyable; many, however, would not. I like having an expensive private plane, but owning a half-dozen homes would be a burden. Too often, a vast collection of possessions ends up possessing its owner. The asset I most value, aside from health, is interesting, diverse, and long-standing friends. My wealth has come from a combination of living in America, some lucky genes, and compound interest. Both my children and I won what I call the ovarian lottery. (For starters, the odds against my 1930 birth taking place in the U.S. were at least 30 to 1. My being male and white also removed huge obstacles that a majority of Americans then faced.) My luck was accentuated by my living in a market system that sometimes produces distorted results, though overall it serves our country well. Ive worked in an economy that rewards someone who saves the lives of others on a battlefield with a medal, rewards a great teacher with thank-you notes from parents, but rewards those who can detect the mispricing of securities with sums reaching into the billions. In short, fates distribution of long straws is wildly capricious. The reaction of my family and me to our extraordinary good fortune is not guilt, but rather gratitude. Were we to use more than 1% of my claim checks on ourselves, neither our happiness nor our well-being would be enhanced. In contrast, that remaining 99% can have a huge effect on the health and welfare of others. That reality sets an obvious course for me and my family: Keep all we can conceivably need and distribute the rest to society, for its needs. My pledge starts us down that course.

The children walking over the bricks of their destroyed homes, their mother putting up a tent, their father in jail... in tears and confusion looking at the tanks coming down the street, the men holding metre-long machine guns... they stare... need I say more ...just imagine how it would feel to be a Palestinian....

Among the mind\'s powers is one that comes of itself to many children and artists. It need not be lost, to the end of his days, by anyone who has ever had it. This is the power of taking delight in a thing, or rather in anything, not as a means to some other end, but just because it is what it is. A child in the full health of his mind will put his hand flat on the summer lawn, feel it, and give a little shiver of private glee at the elastic firmness of the globe.
Charles E Montague

The first half of our lives is ruined by our parents, and the second half by our children.
Clarence Darrow (1857 - 1938)

Your children need your presence more than your presents.

The values indicated by status-insecure parents are such that their children learn to put personal success and the acquisition of power above all else. They are taught to judge people for their usefulness rather than their likeableness. Their friends, and even future marriage partners, are selected and used in the service of personal advancement; love and affection take second place to knowing the right people. They are taught to eschew weakness and passivity, to respect authority, and to despise those who have not made the socio-economic grade. Success is equated with social esteem and material advantage, rather than with more spiritual values.
Norman F. Dixon

I believe that we parents must encourage our children to become educated, so they can get into a good college that we cannot afford.

Parents who are always giving their children nothing but the best usually wind up with nothing but the worst

Each prayer is more beautiful than the others. I cannot recite them all and not knowing which to choose, I do like children who do not know how to read, I say very simply to God what I wish to say, without composing beautiful sentences, and He always understands me. For me, prayer is an aspiration of the heart, it is a simple glance directed to heaven, it is something great, supernatural, which expands my soul and unites me to Jesus.
Therese of Lisieux

Let us put our minds together and see what life we can make for our children.
Sitting Bull

What is a home without children? Quiet.

Ralph Bus

The hardest people to convince they are at retirement age are children at bedtime
Shannon Fife

Children should be led into the right paths, not by severity, but by persuasion

One of the best lessons children learn through video games is standing still will get them killed quicker than anything else
Jinx Milea

Children always know when company is in the living room - they can hear their mother laughing at their father's jokes

We must respect the other fellow's religion, but only in the sense and to the extent that we respect his theory that his wife is beautiful and his children smart.

Words of praise, indeed, are almost as necessary to warm a child into a genial life as acts of kindness and affection. Judicious praise is to children what the sun is to flowers.

Men fear death as children fear to go in the dark.

If Jesus had been killed 20 years ago, Catholic school children would be wearing little electric chairs around their necks instead of crosses.
Lenny Bruce

The best way to keep children at home is to make the home atmosphere pleasant, and let the air out of the tires.

Insanity is hereditary; you can get it from your children

The feminist agenda is not about equal rights for women. It is about a socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism, and become lesbians.
Pat Robertson

I believe in humanity. We are an incredible species. We're still just a child creature, we're still being nasty to each other. And all children go through those phases. We're growing up, we're moving into adolescence now. When we grow up - man, we're going to be something!
Gene Roddenberry
