Good Morning Quotes

I was in a bookstore, browsing through an old Life magazine, when I saw a picture of what the article called spontaneous human combustion. There were an old guy's legs and shoes, perfectly intact...then, right around his knee area, was just a pile of charred ashes. I was going through some turmoil in my life, both good and bad, and the image struck a chord, so...I wrote a song about it.

It's how creativity works. Especially in humans. For every good idea, ten thousand idiotic ones must first be posed, sifted, tried out, and discarded. A mind that's afraid to toy with the ridiculous will never come up with the brilliantly original.

William M. Kucmierowski

Government is good at one thing: It knows how to break your legs, hand you a crutch, and say, "See, if it weren't for the government, you wouldn't be able to walk."

Harry Browne

I know you've heard it a thousand times before. But it's true hard work pays off. If you want to be good, you have to practice, practice, practice. If you don't love something, then don't do it.

Ray Douglas Bradbury

But what of the voice and judgment of conscience? The difficulty is that we have a conscience behind our conscience, an intellectual one behind the moral. We can see quite well that our opinions of what is noble and good, our moral valuations, are powerful levers where action is concerned; but we must begin by refining these opinions and independently creating for ourselves new tables of values.

Georg Morris Cohen Brandes

What [Nietzsche] calls slave morality is to him purely spite-morality; and this spite-morality gave new names to all ideals. Thus impotence, which offers no reprisal, became goodness; craven baseness became humility; submission to him who was feared became obedience; inability to assert ones self became reluctance to assert ones self, became forgiveness, love of ones enemies. Misery became a distinction

This picture will try to show the Nazism is a matter of mind, not geography, and that there are Nazis and people of good will in every country. The world can't spend its life looking over its shoulder and nursing hatreds. There would be no progress that way.

Marlon Brando

When I'm all alone it's the best way to be. When I'm by myself nobody else can say goodbye. Everything is temporary anyway. When the streets are wet the colors slip into the sky. But I don't know why that means you and I are that means you and... I quit, I give up. Nothin's good enough for anybody else, it seems.
