To forgive purely because it is nicer to forgive, and to do so when its a tough call; to try to speak only kindly of those we know because it is preferable to do so; to enjoy the successes of others because living thus is more enjoyable than the stress of living resentfully: such kind things make us better, lovlier people. And to try to live this way for its own merits, without invoking a supernatural reason for doing so, is to celebrate our humanity and to give kindness back its teeth.

In 1883 a relatively unknown Italian magician and alchemist called Alessandro Donnini chose the streets of Venice for an incredible treasure hunt. He asked the count Giovanni Francesco to hide a necklace anywhere in the district of San Marco, and Alessandro's task was to find it. All of Venice was invited to watch and place their bets as to whether or not he could do it. Alessandro used a method called muscle reading. He had the count hold on to his wrist and felt for any tiny unconscious clues, as to which way to go. He found the necklace in just over an hour and a half. It was a triumph, and all the townsfolk went fucking mental.

When I hold you in my arms, I know that I can't do no wrong. And when I hold you in my arms, My love can't do me no harm. And I feel nice, like sugar and spice I feel nice, like sugar and spice. So nice, so nice, well I got you.

I don't know whether nice people tend to grow roses or growing roses makes people nice.

The nice thing about being a celebrity is that when you bore people, they think it's their fault.
Henry Kissinger
2,000 years ago one man got nailed to a tree for saying how great it would be if everyone was nice to each other for a change.

What is happening to my sexuality? It's cold, it's pasionless, and what's worse, it's dull. John Preston was right. SM has become a nice, sweet alternative to heavy petting, and the leaders of this SM "community" want us to be the Elks or some other animal-named civics association, gathering to sell expensive clothing and raffle tickets, congratulating ourselves on how nice we are.

Globalization, as defined by rich people like us, is a very nice thing... you are talking about the Internet, you are talking about cell phones, you are talking about computers. This doesn't affect two-thirds of the people of the world.
Jimmy Carter
To me he's just a special guy with a nice attitude that I hang out with, but don't worry I know the strategies to Don Juan guys' heart

Fake news executives are nicer than real news executives, though real news executives are funnier than fake news executives. They don’t know they’re being funny.
Stephen Colbert
And what's romance? Usually, a nice little tale where you have everything as you like it, where rain never wets your jacket and gnats never bite your nose, and it's always daisy-time
D.H. Lawrence
The natural progress of the works of men is from rudeness to convenience, from convenience to elegance, and from elegance to nicety
